When you first enter the church through the porch to the western end of the centre - look up from between the arches of the Nave which is supported on pillars of sandstone from Little Crosby quarry, and you will see that the ceiling is decorated with the Litany of Our Lady. The colours are reds, blues and gold, and the text in large letters is decorated with a motif of geometrical patterns. The ceiling was originally designed, stencilled and painted by Colonel Nicholas Blundell and his brothers and sisters. The present ceiling is a copy of the original, done in 1979 by Mrs J.
