O Lord I feel so weak to-day
I cannot think of you, nor pray.
Please let me know that you are near,
Comfort me now and calm my fear.
Forgive my faults and failings too -
The times when I've forgotten you;
Share with me, Lord, your life and love,
Renew my spirit from above.
How often have you come to me
O Bread of Heaven, my food to be;
I never thanked you as I ought
I thank you now, my God and Lord.
Sometimes I am in such great pain,
If I should not get well again
Please let this suffering win for me
Your love, for all eternity.
The longest life can seem so short
And time cannot be won nor bought;
When I must leave all I hold dear
Show me that heaven brings loved ones near.
