"Down to Earth"

Has this "progress" so-called
Made our world more secure -
Do you feel any safer
Than you did before ?

With more new found pollution
If you but turn your back
And the hopeless and helpless
On cocaine and crack

From computers and comets
To Neptune and Mars
While children still starve
Must we reach for the stars ?

Why not put the clock back -
Outer space leave alone
With the millions we save
Give the homeless a home ?
