Friends of St Mary's, Little Crosby Visit to Hoghton Towers,
Lancashire. |
| Hoghton
Towers - A great House set on a hill. The House, since its re-creation in 1565, has remained constantly in the de Hoghton Family's ownership and retained it's Tudor - Elizabethan character and construction in it's entirety. The name Hoghton comes from the Saxon word "Hocton" meaning high wooded Hill. |

Settling
down to watch the hawk display.
We enjoyed a splendid, and unscheduled display of hawking, with a most amusing and interesting running commentary. |

One
of the wild-life spectators ! This one was a little difficult, as it decided
to take to the branches of the nearby trees, and was reluctant to come
down.
