Annual Mass at the Harkirk Chapel
Sunday, July 14th, 2002

Early Painting of the Chapel
Every year at about this time, the Church and the Friends celebrate Mass out of doors at this Chapel in the woods, which was built by Colonel Nicholas Blundell in 1889 on the site of a buriel ground dating back to 1610. This year we were fortunate to have the services of Father Denis Carter SSC who took the place of Father John Harvey who was seriously ill at the time (he has since died - May he rest in peace).
Father Carter had recently returned from working in Pakistan as part of the Columbian Fathers' mission, and was in Little Crosby making an appeal on behalf of the mission.
